Orissa Institute of Engineering and Technology(OIET) , Dhenkanal, is a sister concern of the Mahavir Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Bhubaneswar, under the aegis of Nabajuga Educational Trust, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, which also has been running a leading Pharmacy College, namely Indira Gandhi Institute of Pharmacetutical Sciences (IGIPS), in the heart of the capital city of Orissa since 1988.
OIET is a noval venture of this richly experienced and Prudent Trust in being the architect behind several elite Technical Institutions which has an exalted vision to create an advanced centre of Professional Learning of International repute in the hilly and verdant city of Dhenkanal, where pursuit of knowledge and excellence shall reign supreme free from all constraints whatsoever.
OIET is affiliated to the State Council for Technical Education and Vovational Training, Orissa and approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
Set Up in 2008 and one of the fastest growing Engineering Institutes in Orissa offering Diploma Course in Engineering, OIET is situated at Paik Dahikor beside NH-42, 10 km from the Bus Stand and 12 km from the Railway Station of Dhenkanal. The Institute is 62 km from the State Capital Bhubaneswar and 40 km from the historic silver city Cuttack.
